Ralph Nader, the consumer advocate and former Green Party presidential candidate, will come to the Capital District to campaign for Green candidates Howie Hawkins and Matt Funiciello on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Nader, Hawkins, Funicello and Portelli will speak at the Unitarian Church, 405 Washington Ave, Albany at 4:30 PM. There will be a suggested donation of $20 ($10 for students and low-income). RSVP at http://www.howiehawkins.org/nader_albany

Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for Governor of New York will be marching in today's Labor Day Parade in Albany, NY. The Capital District Labor Parade will be assembling between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm near City Hall and the NYS Capitol. The parade will continue to the Corning Preserve for a family picnic.

Labor Day Appearances by Howie Hawkins

On Labor Day, Monday, September 1, Howie Hawkins will march at 10:30 a.m. with his own union, Teamsters Local 317, in the Labor Day Parade at the State Fair near Syracuse.

He will then go to Albany for the afternoon where he will join the Green candidate for Comptroller, Theresa Portelli at the Labor Day Picnic sponsored by the Solidarity Committee of the Capital District in Cook Park in Colonie.

Hawkins Campaign Tour of Chemung Landfill Area, August 28

Corning, NY -- Prior to his press conference in Corning to discuss his plans to ban frack drilling wastes in New York landfills, Howie Hawkins, the Green Party nominee for Governor of New York, will tour the area around the Chemung County Landfill in Lowman. The tour will be this Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 2:00-3:00 pm. The tour will be guided by members of Residents for the Preservation of Lowman and Chemung and People for a Healthy Environment. Meet at 2:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery, on County Route 60 just East of Exit #58 on I86, Lowman, NY.
